Faith for Justice is a collaborative project between New Name Pictures and Traveling Muse Pictures. Our goal is to stimulate a conversation in our culture about the relationship of justice and faith.
Our first project, entitled “I’m a Social Justice Christian” featured a variety of Christians expressing their beliefs about social justice and their Christian faith. Our recent project, “Faith for Justice,” looks more broadly at six different religions and many traditions within those religions and their convictions about social justice.

History of the project
Our goal with these two PSAs has been to highlight the relationship between justice and faith. We began by speaking with Christians and created the first PSA, “I’m a Social Justice Christian,” based on dozens of conversations about how their faith led them to work for justice. However, we knew from the beginning that it wasn’t just Christians that were interested in justice. Indeed, Christians learned this from the Torah and the Hebrew prophets. So, for our second PSA we decided to talk to people from as many different religious traditions as possible. What we discovered was a remarkable similarity in how our different approach the notion of justice.
Future of the project
Because this process was so enlightening and because so little of what we heard can be included in a short PSA we are considering creating a feature length documentary which would explore the issue of faith and justice from all angles. But to do this we need your support. Please make a tax-deductible donation today to keep this project moving!
